What Women Want

25/2/2017

She does not want a beard and nice car, she wants a leader and a sold-out heart.
A godly woman wants a man that is confident in his masculinity and disciplined in his spirituality. If he leads with the materialistic and that is the core attraction, that relationship will wither, much like the materials presented to her in the first place. Nothing degradable or containing an expiry date should ever be the reason a man has a woman’s heart. It is the intangible traits of his character that should appeal to the woman’s heart. It is the intangible that lasts the test of time.
What a godly woman wants
A godly woman is not to be mistaken for a “girl that goes to church” neither is she to be mistaken for a “woman”, period. When I refer to a godly woman, I am referring to a woman whose heart is rooted in Christ, whose feet are planted in the kingdom of God and whose mind is sold to the cause of Christ. I am referring to a woman who is flawed, who slips up along the way and is not ashamed to admit failure; a godly woman who will not accept her failure as defeat. I am referring to a woman who is tenacious concerning the pursuit of her maker. I am referring to what ‘she’ wants in a godly man.

You have money but, do you have a prayer life?
Do not, I repeat do not ever assume that what the world holds as a priority will be what a godly woman sees as a priority. Money won’t always appeal to a godly woman, if your spirituality is non-existent.

1 Timothy 2:18
I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;

 She is looking to the future, she is considering the time her child might be suffering; that he would be able to speak life into her son, encourage him and lay hands on him so that he continues walking in his God-given liberty. She wants a godly man that can cover her family with strategic prayer. She wants a godly man that can encourage her daughters to hold onto their purity and to be just as intelligent and powerful as they want to be. You can pay but can you pray? This is not to say that financial security is not important to a godly woman, it is. It is to say that money exempt from a godly character is futile, in her eyes.

You work out, but are you exercising the fruit of the spirit?
A godly woman wants a man who, not only displays the fruit of the spirit but, exercises his spirituality in a bid to grow his spiritual muscles. Paul likens himself to an athlete in Corinthians to depict the necessity of training daily in this life.

1 Corinthians 9:25
Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

 This verse and those following highlight the importance of self-control and the benefits of developing in our walk with God. A godly woman wants you to train your spiritual muscles. This is not to condemn any man that isn’t strong in his spirituality. The desire to grow, and her witnessing you actively beginning to train, will also be appealing to a godly woman. A stagnant man that is content with however much or little he knows about God won’t always be appealing to a virtuous woman.

You want her to follow you while you start a business, but are you about the Father’s business?

A man that serves in the local church is a man that a godly woman may find appealing. Not everyone is called to be a pastor, preacher or teacher- not every man needs to be. A man that utilises his gifts and uses those gifts to serve his community is a man of integrity and honour. Cleaning the church is just as just as powerful as preaching in the church. Talking to the young men after service is just as powerful as leading the bible studies. Why? Because a service is being provided that ensures people are growing, needs of the house are met and callings are fulfilled. Before expecting a godly woman to follow his lead, a man ought to consider where exactly he is leading her. What is he modelling and why should she trust this vision? What do you want? Given all that has been said, would you date you right now?
