It is not enough for us to be able to quote several scriptures whilst wearing our Sunday’s best, if our inward thoughts oppose our outward actions. The Lord implores us to store the word in our hearts for this very reason. The Word can combat inward carnality. The Word can penetrate and rend our ill intentions in two. The Word can awaken the dormant parts of our lives that the eyes of men cannot see and the parts of our lives that spiffy revelations cannot reach.

Obedience to God stems from an appreciation of the collision between grace and the human life. Love and obedience work hand in hand. I hear it said that obedience is difficult and to that I say,
“Amen, it is difficult… when we aren't totally in love.” Whether rich, poor, male, female, black, white, Christian or not, bad things happen to people. What I found, after coming to the faith, is that I learned to see bad things more as "growth opportunities", rather than punishments from some roaring-dictator-type in the sky. This didn't come easy, but here are some brief points on how to handle your "growth opportunities" (i.e. the bad stuff).
This week's post is in the form of an audio message. This was a message I shared with a new church branch. Most of the believers I met were fresh to the faith. It was fitting for us to explore why we believe what we believe, our duty to share our beliefs and the significance of our testimony. If you have ever wondered:
Why did Jesus die? What is the gospel? How do I share the gospel? Why does my grandma always "cover me in the blood"?What does that even mean? How does the Old Testament connect to the New Testament? I encourage you to listen to this audio message exploring the foundations of Christianity. I know I have been silent but, it has been for good reasons. I have been spending a lot more time serving in my local church, as well as finals, all the while preparing this message. So instead of a topic today I would rather bless you with this message. When you have time to yourself have a seat, watch, be blessed and share it with another. This message looks at the Favour of God what it takes to actually get it. The funny thing with something like the favour of God is that we talk about it, quote it, but it's hard for us to really define it and its relevance. Whenever we're asked questions regarding favour, our brains scramble to think of where in the bible the word is used and voila good old Joseph pops up into our minds. He was promoted in all aspects of life and we marvel at his story but forget the fire that leads him to his favour. All this is explored in the message amongst other things. The writer in me just wants to type a nice thick article style on the topic but I'll tame myself for now.
